When To Plan For Maternity Portraits | Clarksburg Newborn Photography
Early planning for maternity portraits.
The earlier you can start planning for your maternity portraits the better. A great time is in the 2nd trimester. This gives you plenty of time to discuss with your photographer what your vision for these portraits is, where your ideal location is, and what kind of wardrobe to plan for to create a truly personal experience.
Perfect Timing.
The best time to plan for maternity portraits is between 28-34 weeks. This ensures that your baby bump is beautifully prominent and you will still be comfortable to have the session. This timing allows us to capture the elegance of your pregnancy.
Wardrobe Selection.
After we’ve had a chance to talk about how you want to be photographed, you’ll want to invest in some nice maternity gowns. Go for the flowy long gowns to get some really creative portraits. Consider enlisting the help of a wardrobe consultant to help you finalize your outfits.
Locations.
This step is crucial to making your portrait pieces of art. There are so many beautiful parks and gardens in the Clarksburg, Rockville area. Choose an area that really speaks to you and will enhance the way your portraits look. Keep in mind that if you want to photograph your session in the D.C. area around the monuments or parks, there will be a park service permit needed. You’ll want to plan for that early as it can take 10 days for that to process.
Printed Products. Okay, you’ve had your portrait session and now it’s time to think about how you want to display these photographs in your home. If you prefer tabletop displays, I have fine, handmade linen albums and folio boxes. If you prefer wall-mounted pieces, I offer the standard print sizes and offer these mounted, ready for you to frame in your favorite style. All my prints are made on museum-quality fine art papers that are rated to last for over 100 years! These pieces can be handed down for generations.
Trust Your Photographer.
If you’re like many people, the thought of having your photograph made can make you anxious. I specialize in photographing people and have developed a coaching style that makes the process easy and fun for you. It’s not up to you to “get it right” or to know what you’re doing with poses, it’s mine. I coach every client I work with on pose and expression to make sure we’re getting the very best portraits for you.
